Subject: 2 yearl old at School
Question: Hello. I have just joined my 2 year old at School. Its been one month and he goes for 3 days to school. He loves his school but then i go in between to check how he is doing at school. i observe him from outside the door so he does not know I am there. I usually see him playing by himself and also in the playground he is either standing and watching the other kids or playing by himself. I see other kids playing together but I am concerned whether this is normal for 2 year old or I should I be concerned about this.
Answer: Dear Tara:
Even though you see other children playing near each other they are not often actually playing together as adults think. Children who are under 3 or so, play in parallel play. Meaning they play next to each other and do not necessarily interact in their play.
As you son becomes more accustomed to being around children his own age and as he grow older he will more than likely interact more.
Best Wishes!
