Questioner: Liz Subject: Getting children/ teens to open up.
Question: I am a new therapist working with children and teens, needing some ideas, worksheets, activities, and, ect. that help them in expressing their feelings when it is had to open up.
Any fun ideas, activities, or else please send. I also work with parent on developing better relationships with their children and would love suggestions.
Thank you for your time.

Answer: Liz, Even teens enjoy games! They won’t admit it but they still love to play. Anytype of game which involves an acitivity will allow a teen time to open up. Often though when working with teens it is important NOT to believe their body language. They will want you to believe they are not listening and not paying attention to what you say all the while they are hanging onto your every word. Most teens are starving for postive adult attention.
As for specifics, I suggest you do a search on the internet and/or invest in some materials purchase specifically for these type of events. You can find them on the internet and at conferences. The nurturing program has a manual of activities for teens and parents which provides much of what you are seeking. Go to www.nurturingparenting.com order the NP for parents and teens and use the order number #110.
Enjoy and best wishes!
