Subject: 15 Year Old Son
Question: My 15 year old son is very smart. He is in advanced classes at school. Has lots of friends. Also plays guitar in out church youth group. However he has always had bowel movements in his pants. I have tried everything I can think of to help him. I am at a loss.
It is frustrating to the whole family. He won’t bathe after it has happened and the smell gets on everything he sits on. His room smells like a petting zoo. I recently found out he has been urinating under his desk instead of going to the bathroom. I cleaned his carpet twice. The smell won’t go away. It is in the carpet, his mattress, on the furniture. He doesn’t seem to care. It doesn’t embarrass him. I don’t know what to do. HELP!!
Answer: Dear Melanie,
Okay he is 15 and having a problem that sounds like you have tried to handle for way too long. What on earth does he do when he goes to other people’s houses?
I think it is long past due for trip to the doctors and then to a counselor. Don’t walk, RUN!
Good Luck!
